RFID Antennas

RFID Antennas
RFID antennas are the arms of an RFID system. They take energy from an RFID reader and transmit it in the form of Radio Frequency waves to RFID tags when the tag comes within read range. Electromagnetic energy triggers the tag to start sending data in the form of radio waves. The antenna picks up the radio waves and sends them to the reader which decodes the waves as digital.
How to choose RFID antenna
Many factors are involved in selecting the right antennas. Site visits are important and should be taken into account. Other factors include:
– Frequency range
– Amplification
– Opening angle/ beamwidth
– Polarization (Circular or Linear)
– Internal or External
– Integrated or Non Integrated
It is best to work with an established vendor to scope out the best Antenna option.
